The fruit taste best when harvested at under eight inches, but can easily reach 1 1\/2- 2 feet  if left out (even for a few extra days). If you're only going to grow one variety of zucchini this is an excellent choice.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSquash Planting Instructions –   \u003cbr\u003eWe recommend direct sowing squash seeds 1-2 inches deep in an area that gets plenty of direct sunlight (at least 6 hours). You can transplant young plants, but squash roots are sensitive making it easier to direct-sow the seeds. Make sure to wait until there isn’t a chance of frost and soil temperatures are at least 60-65 degrees. The soil should be rich, well-drained, and have plenty of organic matter. Start seeds in slightly elevated dirt mounds 3-6 feet apart, as squash are sprawling plants that need plenty of space.
